With only three days left before polling day, Muhyiddin said he did not want PN’s machinery and supporters to become complacent about their candidate’s chances of winning the Nenggiri state by-election.
“Alhamdulillah, the response from voters in Nenggiri has been very encouraging.
“In fact, in areas that were previously impenetrable for us, including the Orang Asli villages, the people have welcomed us,” he told reporters here after meeting residents of Kampung Limau Kasturi.
“Although the support is quite strong, if voters do not cast their ballots, the turnout percentage will drop and that could pose a problem,” he added.
Muhyiddin, who is also Bersatu president, said he would be in Nenggiri until Friday to help campaign for Rizwadi.
Nenggiri voters will head to the polls on Aug 17. It will be a straight fight between Rizwadi and Barisan Nasional candidate Azmawi Fikri Abdul Ghani.
In the 2023 Kelantan state elections, PN won Nenggiri with an 810-vote majority.
