PETALING JAYA:
The teenage girl detained for impersonating a medical officer at Sultan Idris Shah Hospital in Serdang recently will be referred to a specialist hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said initial investigations suggested that the girl’s actions were likely due to a disturbed state of mind.

“There is no motive established and she will be referred to a specialist hospital for psychiatric evaluation.

“The girl will be released on police bail after her remand period ends (today) while the investigation paper is being completed,” he was quoted as saying by Harian Metro.

Sepang magistrate Bukhori Ruslan issued the remand order against the 14-year-old yesterday to facilitate investigations under Sections 448 and 170 of the Penal Code for trespassing and impersonating a civil servant respectively.

Previously, Sepang police chief Wan Kamarul Azran Wan Yusof said the teenager was arrested at 9am on Thursday at the lobby of the hospital.

A scrub suit, scrub pants and a lanyard belonging to the hospital were also seized.

She was earlier reported to have offered to assist in a surgery.
