
The club was docked six points by the Malaysian Football League, fined RM50,000 and banned from conducting player transfers until the end of the 2024/2025 season for violating the terms of the national licence application.

KL City also cannot apply for the Asian licence for two cycles beginning with the coming season, was fined a further RM50,000 and had its existing AFC licence for the 2024/2025 season cancelled.
A statement issued by the league said KL City is wholly responsible for submission of documents and the overall integrity of documents submitted to the First Instance Body, an independent body appointed by the MFL to conduct a comprehensive investigation to confirm all declarations of arrears by KL City.
The FIB’s review found inaccurate information in documents submitted by KL City involving the Inland Revenue Board , EPF and Social Security Organisation contributions. The veracity of documents submitted previously also could not be ascertained.
The FIB announced that MFL’s board of directors can take follow up action against KL City for the offences if needed.
KL City is currently third in the Super League with 11 points after six matches.
