
Zahid said the matter would, however, have to be discussed with their allies in Pakatan Harapan, who are in the Selangor administration.
“We are determined (to work based on) this understanding. We hope that our allies will see eye to eye with us.
“Surely they can give us one of the four available seats,” he said while officiating the Kota Raja Umno division meeting at the Premiere Hotel in Klang today.
In his speech earlier, Tengku Zafrul said Umno should be allowed to contest the Sentosa, Sungai Kandis, or Kota Kemuning state seats, or even the Kota Raja parliamentary seat, at the next general election.
“This is Kota Raja Umno’s wish, based on the spirit of unity with our friends in PH. Give Kota Raja Umno a chance to contest one of the seats,” he said.
Tengku Zafrul gave his assurance that the division would do its best if it was given the seat, and would help ensure victories for the surrounding seats.
