PETALING JAYA:
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has reappointed five members of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission’s (MACC) operations review panel – an independent oversight body – for a third term.

The anti-graft agency said in a statement that the five would serve on the panel for two years from April 1 to March 30, 2026. Their previous appointments ended on March 31 this year.

They include panel chairman Ahmad Rosli Sham, a former deputy head of the Attorney-General’s Chambers prosecution division, as well as Azimah Abd Hamid, a former deputy director-general in the customs department.

The other members are former Kelantan state secretary Faudzi Che Mamat, former Inland Revenue Board deputy chief executive (compliance) Abdul Manap Dim and former Bank Negara Malaysia financial intelligence and enforcement department deputy director Mazlan Ahmad.

“The appointment letters of the panel members were presented by MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki at the MACC office today.

“These reappointed members of the operations review panel are professionals in several fields. The panel plays an important role as a check-and-balance mechanism for ongoing investigations,” said MACC.
