Policeman charged with Farah Kartini’s murder

Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah was found dead at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, on July 15.

PETALING JAYA:
A policeman, Alif Monjani, was charged at the Kuala Kubu Bharu magistrates’ court today with the murder of Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah.

Farah Kartini, who was reported missing on July 10, was found dead at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, on July 15.

The 25-year-old was reported missing after delivering a rental car to a customer.

Alif, a 26-year-old lance corporal stationed at the Slim River police station in Perak, arrived at the Kuala Kubu Bharu magistrates’ court complex under heavy police security.

Berita Harian reported that representatives from both Farah Kartini and Alif’s family were seen entering the courtroom as Alif was brought in.

The case is scheduled to be heard before sessions court judge Nurul Mardhiah Redza.

However, no plea is expected to be recorded as the charge, which is framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder, is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
