PETALING JAYA:
The health ministry will recruit 3,950 new medical staff on a contract basis this month, comprising 3,200 medical officers, 400 pharmacy officers, and 350 dental officers.

The ministry said applicants who fulfil the criteria for the scheme but are not recruited would be listed as reserve candidates, according to Bernama.

It said recruitment is open until July 31 in line with Putrajaya’s decision on contract appointments pending the introduction of a new method for permanent appointments in the civil service.

“Medical, dental and pharmacy officers appointed on a contract (interim) basis will have the opportunity to be permanently appointed subject to their performance and the recommendation of their heads of department,” it said.

It said recruitment is open to candidates currently serving in the health ministry, as well as medical officers who have completed their maximum seven-year contract period.

Similarly, dental and pharmacy officers who have completed the maximum five-year contract period are also eligible.

They may apply through the SPA9 portal and complete the required information by July 31.
