Suspect in Farah Kartini’s murder to be charged tomorrow

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan says the public prosecutor’s office has given the green light.

PETALING JAYA:
The man who allegedly murdered Nur Farah Kartini Abdullah will be charged at the Kuala Kubu Bharu magistrates’ court at 9am tomorrow.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan said the suspect will be charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder after receiving the green light from the public prosecutor’s office.

“The investigation paper was completed and referred to the public prosecutor’s office. An instruction was given to charge the suspect under Section 302 for murder,” he said in a statement today.

Farah Kartini, who was reported missing on July 10, was found dead at an oil palm plantation in Kampung Sri Kledang, Hulu Selangor, on the evening of July 15.

She went missing after delivering a rental car to a customer.

Police later arrested the suspect, a lance corporal attached to the Slim River police station in Perak.
