Jezamine’s lawyer, Akberdin Abdul Kader, said shariah judge Siti Noraini Ali confirmed the divorce, which was made with a single pronouncement of “talak” (talak satu), Bernama reported.
“Alimony involving the children was also resolved,” Akberdin was quoted as telling reporters outside the shariah court in Putrajaya.
He also said a custody hearing will be held next week.
Met outside the courtroom, Jezamine and Harith said they remain good friends.
“Of course, we are sad, but we agreed that we would move forward for the kids,” Harith said, referring to their three children, aged between nine and 14.
He said the working relationship between him and Jezamine would “carry on as usual” as they jointly own several companies.
Jezamine, 41, had filed for divorce on July 8, citing irreconcilable differences.
Last week, Harith admitted that the divorce was brought about by his own shortcomings, adding that his actions played a significant role in the breakdown of their relationship.
Harith and Jezamine were married in June 2010.
