PETALING JAYA:
Police have confirmed that a woman who claimed she was assaulted by her actor boyfriend has retracted her report.

However, Petaling Jaya police chief Shahrulnizam Ja’afar said the investigation paper based on Section 323 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing hurt has been submitted to the deputy public prosecutor (DPP).

“Further action will be determined by the DPP’s instructions,” he told FMT.

Earlier this month, the 25-year-old woman claimed that her 37-year-old boyfriend punched her in the left eye and body.

Shahrulnizam said an investigation revealed that the victim had gone out with her sister before being contacted and scolded by the suspect.

She later met her boyfriend at Ara Damansara, where he allegedly assaulted her in his car.

Police recorded statements from both the woman’s boyfriend and her sister.
