Motorist lands in sewage pond after accident with motorcycle

Police say the motorist panicked after the accident and landed in the pond 100m away.

PETALING JAYA:
A motorist ended up in a sewage pond near Taman Sri Wang, Sungai Petani, in a short-lived attempt to escape from the scene of an accident with a motorcycle yesterday, police said.

According to Kuala Muda police chief Wan Azharuddin Wan Ismail, the incident happened at 4.25pm when the motorist, in his 20s, collided with the motorcycle of a food delivery rider, Sinar Harian reported.

He said the car driver panicked and drove off but landed in a sewage pond 100m away.

The delivery rider suffered facial injuries and scratches to his hands and legs.

Police have seized the car and motorcycle for further investigations.
