In a posting on X, JPA said the special announcement will be made at the civil service’s “premier assembly” at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre on Aug 16.
“Let us all increase our performance and quality of work with complete dedication in accordance with the salary increase that we are set to receive,” it said.
Started in 2000, the premier assembly would usually see the prime minister delivering a keynote address to civil servants and announcing initiatives that would benefit those in public service.
Previously, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said the increment would be the highest ever given to civil servants, as 13% was previously the biggest increase.
He said the wage increase would be implemented from December with more than RM10 billion allocated.
For civil servants on the lowest salary scale, their total income, including allowances, would increase to a minimum of RM2,000 a month from RM1,795, he said.
However, Anwar, who is also the finance minister, said 5% of the workforce would see their pay hike put on review for being “slow and lazy”.
