IPOH:
Jakim, the Islamic development department, will file a report on a TikTok video that urged the public to pray for misfortune to befall national leaders, including the prime minister.

Religious affairs minister Na’im Mokhtar said the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission, which regulates the internet, would be asked to investigate and take action.

“We will ask MCMC to review the content, and it will be up to the authorities to take any further action,” he said.

The TikTok video, featuring a Qunut Nazilah recitation, contains a message calling for divine retribution on the prime minister, his ministers, and his supporters.

Na’im said that such actions are contrary to Islamic teachings, and differences of opinion should be expressed in a courteous manner through the right means.
