IPOH:
Domestic trade officials have seized 52kg of subsidised cooking oil from a shop in Tanjong Malim yesterday after a complaint that the seller was concealing the cooking oil and refusing to sell it.

“To verify the complaint, the officers posed as consumers,” said Kamalludin Ismail, the state director of the domestic trade and cost of living ministry. “When they tried to buy the oil, the seller claimed that the cooking oil was sold out.”

A team of officers and enforcement personnel then conducted an inspection of the premises and found cooking oil packets stored behind the counter.

He added that a stock declaration directive under the Control of Supplies Act was issued and 52kg of cooking oil seized.
