Sng, the Julau MP, who was first elected president in 2022 when the party was just formed, will remain its president until 2027. He is the party’s sole representative in the Dewan Rakyat.
In a statement, PBM also said there were no contests for the posts of deputy president and vice-presidents.
Steven Choong and Wong Judat were named deputy PBM presidents after an internal restructuring last February, with Chua Lian Chye appointed as vice-president.
The party also said it will hold its annual general assembly at Wisma MCA in Kuala Lumpur on July 21.
In 2022, PBM saw weeks of infighting between Sng and the party’s 11 Supreme Council members who were suspended.
They included former plantation industries and commodities minister Zuraida Kamaruddin, Lembah Jaya assemblyman Haniza Talha and Sementa assemblyman Daroyah Alwi.
The suspensions were in relation to the members’ alleged involvement in undermining the interest of the party and its leadership.
Sng eventually sacked Zuraida and 10 others after they failed to respond to show cause letters issued by the party.
