
He was found to have made repeated diesel purchases at 12.20pm totalling RM132.03 and then RM200 in purchases after 55 minutes, based on observations by domestic trade officials and purchase records.
Azman Ismail, the Kelantan director of the domestic trade and cost of living ministry, said the suspect was arrested and a locally registered four-wheel drive vehicle believed to be used in diesel smuggling was seized.
The petrol station would also be investigated for disobeying the instructions of the supplies officer by allowing the suspect to make repeated purchases.
In a separate raid, 100 litres of diesel was seized from a Perodua Kancil with a modified fuel tank. The car was abandoned by the roadside at around 11am last Wednesday when the driver noticed an enforcement team around Tumpat.
