PETALING JAYA:
Several parts of central Kuala Lumpur have had their water supplies cut after the water supply company Air Selangor had to temporarily shut down the Bukit Nanas water treatment plant.

Among the areas affected are: Bukit Bintang, Bukit Ceylon, Chow Kit, Dang Wangi, Hampshire Park, Hospital Kuala Lumpur, Imbi, Kampung Baru, Kampung Datuk Keramat, Kuala Lumpur city centre, Medan Tuanku, Pudu and Titiwangsa Sentral.

In a statement released this evening, Air Selangor said the shutdown was necessary due to increased colouration in the treated water at the plant and that the company is still investigating the cause.

“Water tankers will be mobilised to the affected areas, with hospitals, clinics, dialysis centres and funeral homes prioritised,” it said.
