IPOH: A housewife was charged in the magistrates’ court here today with murdering a five-year-old girl between June 5 and 10.
Wan Fatimah Zahra Wan Abdullah, 27, nodded after the charge was read to her before magistrate S Punitha.
No plea was recorded because the case is under the jurisdiction of the High Court.
Wan Fatimah Zahra is accused of causing the death of Iman Adelia Yusullah at a house on Jalan Kledang Raya 23 in Taman Malcop here.
She was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the possibility of the death penalty upon conviction.
Deputy public prosecutor Vatchira Wong Rui Fern appeared for the prosecution. The accused was not represented.
The court set Aug 28 for case mention pending the chemist’s report.
