Bukit Aman narcotics crime investigation department director Khaw Kok Chin said a special team from the department raided the “drug store” in the 12.50pm operation.
“The seized drugs comprised 71 packets of ketamine labelled as ‘Tie Guan Yin’ weighing 73.15kg and 300 packets of methamphetamine labelled as ‘Guanyinwang’ weighing 308.6kg.
“These drugs could have been used by 1.8 million drug users,” he said in a press conference at the Serdang district police headquarters today.
Police also arrested a 36-year-old man believed to be the storekeeper.
Preliminary investigations revealed that he was paid RM6,000 per trip to distribute the drugs to customers in the Klang Valley.
The suspect has no prior criminal record and tested negative for drugs.
Police also confiscated a Hyundai car believed to have been used by the suspect to deliver the drugs to his customers.
Khaw said the drugs were smuggled in from a neighbouring country along the east coast region.
The authorities are now looking for the owner of the house to facilitate the investigation, and tracking down the remaining members of the syndicate.
