Netizens took to social media to post pictures and videos of the blaze as dark smoke billowed into the air.

At press time, the Pahang fire and rescue department said they were putting out the fire and that an official statement would be issued later.

Genting Malaysia Bhd said the fire broke out at about 4.30pm and that none of the other areas were affected.

“Evacuation was carried out immediately to ensure members of the public were out of harm’s way. Our fire units responded promptly to extinguish the fire,” it said in a statement.

Genting Malaysia said it would continue to monitor the situation.
