
However, Fuziah warned them against exploiting the situation by raising their prices exorbitantly, saying the ministry would take action if they are caught doing so.

“For now, we are only giving diesel subsidies to lorries and trucks that carry basic necessities,” she told FMT.
The deputy minister said exceptions would be made for tow trucks or mixer trucks that use prime mover truck heads, adding that they are eligible for subsidies.
Earlier, FMT reported that vehicle-towing companies and concrete producers had raised their prices since yesterday following the hike in the price of diesel to RM3.35 per litre from RM2.15.
Hardware store Chuan Soon Heng Sdn Bhd had also issued a notice informing customers of an increase in prices, citing a 25% hike in “trucking charges”.
