SPNB chairman Husam Musa said the house in Kampung Gong Datuk here was worth RM68,000.
He said it was a show of appreciation for Wan Ezila’s contributions in the national football arena.
“His widow does not have a home of her own and is now staying at her parents’ house. She has no regular income and is working as a babysitter to cover living expenses.
“To show our appreciation for the services of the footballer and concern over the difficulties faced by his widow, SPNB, through its corporate social responsibility initiative, has donated RM48,000, with RM20,000 in government subsidies, to build the house,” Husam said after handing over the offer letter to Wan Ezila’s widow, Suhaini Asri, here today.
Suhaini expressed her gratitude for the contribution and said she will return to live in the village once the house is completed.
She said after her husband’s death in January this year, she and her two children, aged nine and 15, moved to stay at a relative’s house in Kuala Lumpur.
Husam said since RMR was introduced in 2002, SPNB had built 10,349 RMR units in Kelantan and 65,617 units nationwide.
