PETALING JAYA:
A man lost control of his car and crashed into a stone pillar in front of the X-ray department at Sultanah Fatimah Specialist Hospital in Muar last night.

Muar police chief Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz said the incident occurred at 10.20pm after the driver, who was with a friend, had travelled from the Sultanah Aminah Hospital in Johor Bahru to the specialist hospital, Sinar Harian reported.

“The crash is believed to have occurred when the driver suddenly suffered a seizure.

“This caused him to lose control of the car and crash into the stone pillar in front of the hospital’s X-ray department,” he was quoted as saying.

He said the man, who works for a medical supply company, was found unconscious following the accident.

Raiz added that both the driver, aged 30, and his 28-year-old friend, are now being treated at the specialist hospital.

The case is being investigated under Section 43 of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987 for careless or inconsiderate driving.
