The department said the Cyberjaya labour office found there was a basis to the complaints in the mass media and by email. An investigation paper would be opened.
“The management of the university admits that it is currently facing a financial crisis which has caused delays in salaries for April and May involving 93 employees with a salary of RM4,800 and above. Of that number, 86 are local workers and seven are foreign,” the statement read.
The investigating officer from the Cyberjaya labour office has issued a summons to the university management to provide further information and submit complete documents.
Workers who complained have been asked to appear at the Cyberjaya labour office to file a case under the Employment Act, enabling the agency to issue an order against the employer.
