Water supply in Klang Valley areas to recommence tomorrow

Air Selangor says full restoration is expected by noon on Friday.

Previously Air Selangor said the water supply for seven areas in the Klang Valley would be cut off to allow for work on a treatment plant.
KUALA LUMPUR:
Asset maintenance and replacement work at the Sungai Selangor phase 1 water treatment plant (SSP1 WTP) is expected to be completed at 7pm today, while users in seven affected areas in the Klang Valley can expect water to be restored in stages starting at 3am tomorrow, Air Selangor says.

In a post on Facebook, the utilities company said that 20% of customers would have water by 3pm tomorrow, and up to 90% by 3am on Friday.

“Full restoration is expected at noon on Friday, with disruption and subsequent recovery in the areas mentioned dependent on location and water pressure at the distribution system,” Air Selangor said, adding that the asset maintenance and replacement work at the plant began at 9am today, on schedule.

In a statement last month, Air Selangor said water supply for seven areas in the Klang Valley would be cut off from June 5 to 7 due to upgrades to the SSP1 WTP.

The areas involved are Kuala Lumpur, Gombak, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Kuala Selangor, Petaling and Shah Alam.
