Govt agency director nabbed in Kelantan

PETALING JAYA:
The Kelantan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission has detained the director of a government agency on suspicion of soliciting “hundreds of thousands of ringgit” in bribes.

A source said the man, who is in his 50s, was detained at the Kelantan MACC office this afternoon after having his statement recorded.

“The man is alleged to have requested bribes totalling hundreds of thousands of ringgit in exchange for approving contract work for the agency’s clients,” said the source, according to Bernama.

Kelantan MACC director Rosli Husain confirmed the arrest and said the suspect will be remanded for further investigation.
