
“If any investigation carried out proves that there is abuse of power, then she will be subject to the same level of investigation.
“She will cooperate with any type of investigation but it is too early to question whether it is appropriate for her to resign,” she said in a press conference here.
Her comments follow Urimai chairman P Ramasamy’s call for Yeoh to resign over allegations that the Selangor government contract for the demand responsive transit (DRT) pilot project was awarded to a company co-owned by Yeoh’s husband, M Ramachandran, through direct negotiations.
Teo, who is also the national DAP publicity secretary, hit back at the former Penang deputy chief minister II of 15 years, asking why he did not make the same call when DAP chairman and then Penang chief minister Lim Guan Eng was charged in court.
“Did Ramasamy ask Lim to resign? Why does he change his stance now? Is it because he now wants to be (seen as) an angel after leaving DAP?” she said.
Yesterday, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said it had conducted an interim investigation of the issue but did not find any wrongdoing.
MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki said there was no case to answer.
Asia Mobility Technologies Sdn Bhd is one of the two companies selected for the DRT pilot project.
DRT is a state government initiative to improve the effectiveness of public transport and mobility services in Selangor.
