At a press conference, Fahmi said Putrajaya had agreed to award the management of the iconic tower’s operations to LSH Best Builders Sdn Bhd and Service Master Sdn Bhd.
The two firms will take over from Hydroshoppe Sdn Bhd, which was previously awarded the concession in October 2022.
Fahmi said LSH Best Builders and Service Master fulfilled all the requirements set during the bidding process, adding that three other companies had also applied.
“They will form a joint venture and the companies have fulfilled the requirements. No issues were identified.
“The next step is the issuance of the appointment letter to the companies,” said the communications minister.
In December 2022, Fahmi said his ministry was examining the acquisition of the ownership of the management of KL Tower from Telekom Malaysia by Hydroshoppe.
The matter has led to a corruption probe, with a charge being slapped on a Hydroshoppe director, Abdul Hamid Shaikh Abdul Razak Shaikh.
Hamid was charged last year with allegedly offering an annual RM500,000 bribe over 15 years to former communications and multimedia minister Annuar Musa in connection with the takeover of the KL Tower concession.
