Teenage hiker found dead at Bukit Broga

He is believed to have fallen into a 10-metre-deep ravine, 100 metres from the entrance.

PETALING JAYA:
A teenage boy who went hiking with his guardian and two friends at Bukit Broga, Semenyih, Kajang, was found dead today.

Adi Putra Affendi, 16, was reported missing during a recreational activity at the popular spot yesterday, Bernama reported.

Kajang police chief Zaid Hassan said the victim, his guardian and two friends, both aged 13, began their hike at around 7.50am. They only realised Adi was missing at 12.30pm.

Zaid said the boy was found unconscious in a rocky area near the hiking trail after a 19-hour search and rescue operation.

He was confirmed dead by paramedics at 3.40pm today and his body was taken to Kajang Hospital. Police have classified the case as sudden death.

Selangor fire and rescue department director Wan Razali Wan Ismail said rescuers found the victim at 2.50pm today.

He believed Adi had fallen into a 10-metre-deep ravine, which is about 100 metres from the Bukit Broga entrance.
