PETALING JAYA:
Thunderstorms in the Klang Valley this evening led to more trees being uprooted and crashing on vehicles.

Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) reported that a large tree fell in front of the AmBank branch at Taman Kinrara, Jalan Puchong, damaging several vehicles parked at the shoplots.

“Fire and rescue department personnel and policemen are on the scene,” said DBKL’s traffic command and control centre in a Facebook post.

A video of the fallen tree showed people emerging from under the branches. They are believed to have been in one of the vehicles when the tree fell.

Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director of operations Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received an emergency call on the incident at about 4.25pm.

He said seven vehicles were damaged by the tree but nobody was reported injured.
