The PKR central leadership council member and former Kapar MP, who is on a three-day visit to Negeri Sembilan, said grassroots members had spoken to him about the matter.
He said in a statement that the grassroots leaders and party machinery must continue to reach out to those in need and those who qualify for the government aid offered by numerous agencies.
Manivanan said that party grassroots leaders must also help translate Anwar’s messages to the people and help them understand the initiatives that have been and will be taken.
“The initiatives are not populist in nature. Their main focus is to make sure that the economy gets better and the people are able to live safely and prosperously,” he said.
Manivanan also said the agencies responsible must be more effective in providing aid to the public, and that enforcement agencies must increase their surveillance to guard against disruptions to public order and the spread of slander.
