Two security guards were charged in the sessions court here today with aiding a man in throwing petrol bombs at an entertainment centre here last week.

M Preemraj and Nor Rahman Sadik, both 25, pleaded not guilty to abetting a person to cause mischief by fire when the charges were read to them before judge Hamidah Deril.

The duo were accused of abetting the suspect, who is still at large, and causing a loss of RM3,000 to a property at Jalan Yap Kwan Seng at 2.17am on May 9.

They were charged under Section 109 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 435 of the same code, which carries a maximum prison term of 14 years and a fine upon conviction.
