ALOR SETAR:
A former special officer to ex-Merbok MP Nor Azrina Surip was fined RM45,000 at the sessions court here today after pleading guilty to three counts of submitting false claims totalling RM29,500 for home improvements four years ago.

Khalid Abdul Hamid, 46, pleaded guilty to the three charges, which were read to him before judge N Priscilla Hemamalini.

According to the charges, he fraudulently used fake documents as genuine – three invoices from a company amounting to RM29,500 – at the Merbok parliamentary service centre on Jan 20, 2020.

The charges were framed under Section 471 of the Penal Code.

The court fined Khalid RM15,000 on each count and ordered him to serve five months in jail if he failed to pay the fine.
