This follows the acid attack on Selangor FC winger Faisal Halim, which has left the national player requiring treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).
“We are in discussions with the related parties on this matter and will provide an official statement about this in due course,” MFL CEO Stuart Ramalingam told FMT briefly.
He was asked if the match scheduled to be held at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri would be postponed.
Earlier, Ramalingam reportedly said “so far”, the match would proceed as scheduled. He said none of the teams had requested for the game to be postponed.
A second suspect was arrested in Bandar Baru Bangi last night after Faisal was splashed with acid at a shopping mall in Kota Damansara.
The first suspect was cleared after it was found he was not involved in the incident, though he was later re-arrested for a drug offence.
The probe into the case has been taken over by Bukit Aman’s classified crime investigation unit.
