In a statement on his Facebook page, the Perikatan Nasional chairman said a police report will be lodged.
“Muhyiddin’s WhatsApp account was hacked at noon today,” said the statement issued by his office.
“We kindly request those who receive messages from his account after this time not to entertain them.
“A police report will be filed and we are currently working to reactivate his WhatsApp account.”
Muhyiddin resigned as prime minister after being in office for one year and 169 days after losing parliamentary support.
He was sworn in as the country’s eighth prime minister on March 1, 2020, following the collapse of the Pakatan Harapan government the month before.
