PETALING JAYA:
Police have arrested a man in his 20s suspected of being involved in yesterday’s acid attack on national footballer Faisal Halim.

Selangor police chief Hussein Omar Khan told FMT the police had recorded statements from three people so far, including Faisal.

“Several witnesses will be called in today,” he added.

Faisal, a winger with the national team and Selangor FC, was splashed with acid at a shopping mall in Kota Damansara near here.

He received treatment at a private hospital and was reported to be in stable condition yesterday.

It was the second attack on a footballer last week after Terengganu FC winger Akhyar Rashid was attacked by two robbers after returning from training on Thursday night.
