Fire destroys 2 paint factories in Kapar

PETALING JAYA:
Two paint factories in Taman Perindustrian Meru, Kapar, were destroyed in a fire early this morning.

Selangor fire and rescue department operation assistant director Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said an emergency call was received at 6.34am.

He said a total of 39 personnel from several fire stations, including Kapar, Andalas, Port Klang, Shah Alam and Rawang, were dispatched to the scene.

“When we arrived, the fire was raging and most of the building was already engulfed in flames,” he said in a statement.

“As of now, there have been no reports of casualties.”

Firefighting operations are still ongoing. The cause of the fire and extent of damage remain under investigation.
