PETALING JAYA:
The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) said it is pursuing leads in tracking down Adlan Berhan, son-in-law of former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin.

“We have new leads on his whereabouts from monitoring the use of his credit cards.

“He is in several countries and we have requested Interpol’s help to locate him.

“Meanwhile, there has been no communication from him or his lawyer,” Berita Harian quoted MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki as saying in Gua Musang, Kelantan, today.

Azam repeated his call for Adlan and his lawyer to turn themselves in to the authorities.

Previously, he said MACC was prepared to charge Adlan with criminal breach of trust, and that the agency had wrapped up its investigation into the businessman.

Last year, an MACC source said the agency had been investigating the award of a lucrative contract to Adlan, centred around possible abuse of power in connection with the National Integrated Immigration System (NIISe).

Adlan was named in media reports in 2020 as a possible key player in the contract for the NIISe.

MACC is also tracking down Mansoor Saat, a lawyer, to facilitate the investigation.
