PETALING JAYA:
Technology services firm HeiTech Padu Bhd returned to profitability last year after recording RM10 million in losses in 2022.

In a statement, the company said it reported RM7.2 million in profits to Bursa Malaysia last year while its total earnings stood at RM28.2 million – a RM17.2 million turnaround compared to the preceding year.

It credited its improved financial performance to its success in securing contracts in both the private and public sectors, with the latter involving the education, domestic trade and cost of living, and health ministries, as well as the Inland Revenue Board and immigration department.

“Our recent success demonstrates HeiTech Padu’s commitment to providing value-added solutions and services to our customers, targeting stronger earning growth.

“For the past 30 years, HeiTech Padu’s strong credentials and track record in developing and managing technological solutions and mission-critical projects for customers in the public and private sectors have seen us grow from strength to strength.

“HeiTech Padu is always focused on delivering value to our customers. Our track record over the years speaks for itself,” said its managing director and CEO Salmi Nadia Hilmey.

Salmi added that the company had gone from being a system integrator and managed infrastructure provider to providing emerging digital products through the creation of in-house offerings that cater to the mass market.

This ranges from smart parking systems and payment gateways to phone applications for local governments, she said.

“HeiTech Padu has also expanded our customer base beyond Malaysia which includes a regional presence through strategic acquisitions and the establishment of new companies.”

Last week, HeiTech Padu announced that it had signed the letter of award for a RM190 million contract for the maintenance of the road transport department’s (JPJ) MySikap system and IT infrastructure.

The three-year contract commences on May 1.

It was awarded a similar contract by JPJ in 2021. The RM36 million contract was only for about 13 months but was extended for four months, and then a year, for RM10 million and RM27 million, respectively.

Earlier this year, HeiTech Padu said it had secured a contract extension worth RM13.1 million for the provision of maintenance services to the Malaysian Immigration System.

It said the 12-month contract extension would run from Feb 18 to Feb 17 next year. The company first secured the three-year contract worth RM33.9 million in March 2021. It ended on Feb 17, 2024.

The firm had also won a RM58.89 million contract from LHDN to provide “next-generation network services” for the agency. This was reportedly announced in January.
