The premier’s political secretary, Abdul Samat Gany, led a group to lodge the report at the Satok police station, The Borneo Post reported.
“Similar reports will be lodged in other districts in Sarawak for the police and the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission to take action,” he was quoted as saying.
Samat said the netizen, using the name of Charles Roger Francis, criticised and made several false claims against Abang Johari, his deputy, Douglas Uggah Embas, and federal works minister Alexander Nanta Linggi.
The whereabouts of the individual is unknown, he said.
He said the post should be investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, and Section 504 of the Penal Code.
“Please do not make any statements on social media without facts or proof, especially if they relate to the government,” he said.
He said all political secretaries will continue to monitor social media platforms for remarks that could potentially cause public unease.
