Wee, however, said the party would support any decision that would benefit the country.
The Ayer Hitam MP said this in a Facebook post after a one-hour meeting with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya where various issues were raised.
“I also conveyed several views from MCA regarding current issues, especially those related to the economy, education, race relations, cost of living, central database hub (Padu), and policies that require serious government attention,” Wee said.
He also said he highlighted infrastructure development concerns in his constituency during the meeting.
“These include interesting proposals to elevate the status of the Yong Peng district council to a municipal council, the construction of the Yong Peng public market, and the development of Yong Peng High School,” he said.
On Jan 7, FMT reported that Wee said although MCA upholds the command of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in supporting the Anwar-led unity government, the party will never be just a “yes-man”.
