1 killed, 2 seriously injured in 7-vehicle pile-up on PLUS highway

The fatal accident occurred late last night near the Sungei Buloh Hospital, says Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director.

KUALA LUMPUR:
The driver of a four-wheel drive (4WD) vehicle was killed and two others were seriously injured in a crash involving seven vehicles, including an express bus, at Km425.6 North-South Expressway (southbound) near Sungai Buloh Hospital here last night.

Selangor fire and rescue department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the two injured persons were a passenger in the 4WD vehicle and the driver of another car.

He said six others were slightly injured and were sent to the hospital for treatment.

“However, all 24 passengers and the two drivers of the express bus did not suffer any injuries,” he said in a statement today.

According to Mukhlis, 11 firefighters from the Rawang fire and rescue station went to the scene following a distress call at 11.37pm.

He said the operation to extricate the body of the victim and rescue those injured was completed at 1.15am.
