Under the deal, Malaysians with household incomes of below RM5,000 in SPNB’s People-Friendly Homes (RMR) programme are automatically offered AmanahRaya’s hibah and will instruments as part of legacy planning for the homes purchased.
The agreement was signed by AmanahRaya group managing director Feizal Sulaiman Khan and SPNB acting CEO Zahanuddin Kamarudin.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim together with AmanahRaya chairman Idrus Harun and SPNB chairman Husam Musa at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Idrus said the initiative would expose the public to the significance of estate planning and wealth management through hibah and will instruments to protect the estates of heirs and recipients.
“It will ensure that the welfare of heirs and recipients is protected in the event of the demise of homeowners,” he said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Husam said SPNB’s products, especially its RMR programme, would receive added value from the collaboration, providing the heirs of homeowners with continuous house ownership with payments as low as RM1,000.
AmanahRaya and SPNB are both owned by the Ministry of Finance (Incorporated).
