PETALING JAYA: Johor menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi has instructed Ranhill SAJ, the state’s water operator, to make the necessary preparations to address the water supply shortages affecting several districts in the southern state.
Onn Hafiz said the persistent hot weather in the past month had led to a decrease in water levels at dams and water tanks in some areas.
“Accordingly, specific measures will be taken to tackle this issue,” he said in a post on X.
These measures include upgrades to a water distribution system and the installation of a booster pump at the Mengkibol tank.
Onn Hafiz said Ranhill SAJ was also on standby to deploy 27 water tanker lorries and 294 static water tanks to various hotspots across Johor for Hari Raya Aidilfitri, from April 3 to 17.
