PETALING JAYA: Gerakan president Dominic Lau got the rare chance to chair Dewan Negara proceedings today.
Lau, a senator, was all smiles as he took his seat to chair the Senate’s proceedings following a request from Dewan Negara president Mutang Tagal.
The Perikatan Nasional deputy chairman is serving his first term as a senator and may be appointed for a second and final term when it expires this year. He was made a senator in November 2021.
The Dewan Negara’s Standing Orders provide for the Senate president to ask any senator to preside over proceedings in his absence.
