This follows Awang’s apology to Johari and his retraction of a statement that led to his suspension.
The PAS MP had complied with opposition leader Hamzah Zainudin’s (PN-Larut) request to retract the statement to offer Johari some flexibility.
Johari then gave a thumbs-up and said: “I accept. Thank you, opposition leader.”
However, it remains unclear what Awang said in the Dewan Rakyat earlier that led to his suspension.
Johari made the ruling just before the opposition MPs staged a walkout from the Dewan Rakyat over a “last-minute” slot given to Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to thank the present and past Yang di-Pertuan Agongs for their service.
Awang had said he was unaware of his suspension and demanded to know the reason for it when deputy speaker Alice Lau – who was then presiding – told him to leave after the opposition MPs returned.
