PETALING JAYA:
Pahang has restructured three executive council portfolios, after Pelangai assemblyman Amizar Abu Adam was sworn in as an exco member.

Amizar was appointed the chairman of the Felda affairs, cooperatives and entrepreneurs committee.

Fakhruddin Ariff (Bebar) heads the local government, housing, environment and green technology committee. He was previously in charge of public works, transport and health.

Razali Kassim (Muadzam Shah), previously the executive councillor for Felda affairs, cooperatives and entrepreneurs, was moved to the public works, transport and health committee.

Announcing the restructuring in a Facebook post today, menteri besar Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail hoped that the state administration will be more “streamlined and stable” in serving the people.

Yesterday, Amizar received his appointment letter from the Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, before he was sworn in at Istana Abdulaziz.

The Pahang state administration is run by a Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan unity government, after the results of the state elections in November 2022 saw no coalition having a majority to form the government on their own.

Yesterday, Johor also announced its new executive council lineup for 2024-2027, with Tanjung Surat assemblyman Aznan Tamin sworn in as education and information committee chairman, replacing Norliza Noh.

Menteri besar Onn Hafiz Ghazi took over the portfolio of state tourism, in addition to his portfolios of state land revenue; and administration, finance, planning and economic development.
