PETALING JAYA: An eight-year-old boy died, believed to have been crushed by a newly built concrete wall at the back of a kitchen in a house at Kampung Padang Lalang Besah in Kuala Ketil, Baling, Kedah, yesterday.
The boy died on his way to the Tawar health clinic following the 10.30am incident, said Baling police chief Shamsudin Mamat.
Shamsudin said police received a call from a medical officer at the clinic at noon.
He said the boy’s mother told her husband their son had been trapped after the wall at the back of the kitchen that was under construction collapsed.
The mother had repeatedly warned her two children not to play in the area, Berita Harian reported Shamsudin as saying.
He said the boy’s brother was also hit by falling bricks, but was only lightly injured.
