PETALING JAYA:
The Shah Alam Stadium is expected to be fully demolished by mid-2025.

Selangor menteri besar Amirudin Shari said the demolition process would begin with the installation of hoarding followed by the dismantling of the existing structures.

In a statement, he said the hoarding and preparation works, which start tomorrow, would take three months.

Amirudin stressed that all parties involved in the redevelopment of the Shah Alam Stadium must meet the standards set by state and local authorities.

“This project serves as a model that employs best practices, especially for infrastructure development of such scale,” he said.

“All measures to deal with the impact of the development will be communicated by the developer to the local community so that the process runs smoothly.”

Amirudin today witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Selangor Menteri Besar Incorporated and the developer Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd (MRCB) marking the start of physical works.

The state government previously announced plans to demolish the Shah Alam Stadium and replace it with a state-of-the-art sports complex at the same site.

The complex is expected to be ready by 2026.
