Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Akram Gharib said the prosecution will issue a subpoena to the former 1MDB counsel.
Akram said Loo will take the stand after Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigating officer Nur Aida Arifin completes her testimony.
Loo was arrested by the police in July last year to assist in the investigation. On Sept 4, police seized assets allegedly linked to the 1MDB scandal totalling almost RM93.2 million acquired under her name.
Meanwhile, a doctor confirmed that Aida was down with flu, after Justice Collin Lawrence Sequerah ordered him to come to court and explain why the prosecution witness had been granted medical leave.
Dr K Shanmuganathan said Aida was experiencing cough, fever and flu, and would not be able to attend proceedings tomorrow, too.
“It is contagious and may spread to other people (if Aida attends court). So she is not fit for work,” he told the court, adding, however, that the MACC officer had tested negative for Covid-19.
Earlier, Akram told the court that Aida was not able to attend court today and tomorrow.
He said Aida had informed the doctor who attended to her that she had to attend court and requested that her medical certificate state that she was unfit to do so.
However, Akram said there was a misunderstanding among the medical staff, leading to them issuing a medical certificate with a disclaimer that it could not be used for court purposes.
Najib is charged with 25 counts of money laundering and abuse of power over alleged 1MDB funds amounting to RM2.28 billion deposited into his AmBank accounts between February 2011 and December 2014.
The hearing was adjourned to Wednesday when Aida will continue with her testimony.
